Daily meditations

The Daily Meditation is a spiritual development course. There is s short reflection or teaching for each day followed by an exercise. The intention of the course is to move you through a program on inner development which will bring into consciousness those unconscious beliefs, attitudes and self-images which keep you from experiencing the truth of who you are. The course itself is a form of spiritual practice which will allow your soul to unfold.

The following is an example of the Daily Meditations that you will receive when you subscribe.

A two month subscription, containing 60 lessons, costs $ 25.-

Projecting the Inner Critic

Today's Reflection:
When you bring anything into consciousness that is not ultimately true it will begin to dissolve. What is true about you is always yours and can never disappear. Only that which is false can dissolve. This week we have been focusing on becoming very clear about the specific judgments of the Inner Critic. We do this so that they can begin to loose their grip on us, so that they can begin to dissolve.

We are afraid to look too closely at our judgments about ourselves because, at some level, we are afraid that they might be true. Although there may be some objective reality to an observation that one person has a talent for music and another person has a talent for numbers, there is not a good/bad judgment involved. That is a fact the same as one person has black hair and another brown. There may be preferences but not judgment. When there is judgment involved, the Inner Critic is lurking in the shadows.

The Exercise:
One way that the unconscious material in our Inner Critic can be detected is to examine our judgments of others. Often we judge in others what we secretly judge in ourselves. Therefore, observing our criticisms of others is a good way to discover some of our own self-judgments.

This exercise is to observe your criticism of others. These judgments may show up as thoughts or as spoken criticisms. When you find yourself judging someone, ask yourself if that may also be a judgment you have about yourself. If you find a clear Inner Critic attack, add it to your list. We will work with your list next week.

As you move through you’re the next couple of days see if you can continue to be aware of the Inner Critic. The work we have been doing is not easy. Take a few deep breaths and then, gently and meditatively, raise your right hand out in front of you. Now reach slowly over your left shoulder and give yourself a couple of pats on the back. Well done!
